Text Messaging Service Update

We've temporarily paused our text messaging service as we work to enhance our methods of communication. Here's what you can do in the meantime.

We apologize for any inconvenience that pausing our SMS texting service will cause, and we thank you for your patience as we work toward improving our digital communications. We will update this page as soon our enhanced messaging capabilities are available.

For now, know that you can receive the same messages as email notifications. Here are instructions for how to enroll in email alerts:

To enroll in email communications:

  1. Sign in at and click My Accounts. In the top right corner, click Horizon MyWay, and then go to your account.
  2. Click My Profile in the top right corner
  3. Click Communications in the drop down
  4. Click Edit communication preferences
  5. Make sure the Email checkbox is selected
  6. Click Save Changes

Some of the messages you will receive are notifications that your:

  • Contribution has been confirmed
  • New debit card has been mailed
  • Debit card is on hold because a claim must be substantiated
  • Debit card is on hold due to suspicious activity
  • Debit card is no longer on hold and will be available to use within 24 hours
  • Claim has been processed
  • Claim has been denied
  • Phone number has been updated
